THE BEST SEX POSITIONS

The MISSIONARY SEX POSITION is a common human sex position also used by certain other species like armadillos. In his seminal study Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953), researcher Alfred Kinsey stated that 100 percent of married women surveyed reported using this position most often, whereas nine percent reported using it exclusively.

In the missionary position:

• · The woman lies on her back, with her legs spread either flat (horizontally on the same surface as her back), drawn up toward her chest, or wrapped around the man. She can wrap one or both legs around him at various heights: resting on the back of his upper shins or thighs, around his buttocks or back, or over his shoulders. Generally, the higher she lifts her legs, the deeper the penetration.
• · The man lies on his stomach on top of the woman, his legs between her legs, and his groin at the same level as hers to facilitate penetration.

SQUASHING OF THE DECKCHAIR SEX POSITION is a sex position whose name was popularized by the movie American Pie 2. It can be considered a variant of the missionary position.

In this position the woman lies on her back and the man lies or kneels in alignment with the vagina or anus. The man will hold (or press with his shoulder) the woman's leg(s) upwards to adapt the positioning of the woman's pelvis.

This position, as believed by some, achieves a faster and/or more intense rate of female orgasm. This can be accomplished through lifting the women's leg(s) higher upwards, allowing the man's penis to penetrate more fully.

A variation of this position can be to alternate the legs that are pushed up; as pushing upward both of woman's legs can be tiring for the partner - as well as some women are stimulated more if only one leg is pushed up.

Furthermore, there are also degrees of pressure that can be applied to the leg(s), which result in different sensations for both partners.

The BUTTERFLY SEX POSITION is a sex position.

In the butterfly position: The man stands up and the woman lies on her back, on a surface below the man's waist height.

The woman then lifts her pelvis (with the man supporting her weight with his hands) so that her vagina is in alignment with the man's penis, and the man then penetrates her in this position. Since a bed (usually the most convenient place for the woman to lie) is usually lower than the man's waist, the man may have to lean over the woman, or the woman might place a pillow or other object beneath her tailbone to elevate her groin. A combination of these two concepts can be applied as well. Generally speaking, surfaces such as tables and countertops tend to be closer to the proper height. If the position can be accomplished with minimal leaning on the man's part, the man is free to caress the woman's body during intercourse.

DOGGY STYLE SEX POSITION, in English also known as the "doggy position," "kitty style," "retro copulation," or simply "rear entry;" in Latin as coitus more ferarum ("sex by the custom of beasts"); in the French language as levrette ("female Greyhound"); in the Italian language as pecorina ("little sheep"); in the Russian language as ("crayfish"); and in the Kama Sutra as "the Union of the Cow"; is a sex position. The name of the position refers to the position assumed by dogs when mating (although dogs, unlike most other mammals, actually spend most of their copulation with the partners standing tail to tail, facing in opposite directions.

In the doggy position, the receiving partner crouches on all fours with the legs slightly spread, while the penetrating partner penetrates the receiver vaginally or anally from behind, either using the penis, a dildo or the fingers. As well as being enjoyable for its own sexual pleasure, this position is a good position for play with sexual dominance: some consider the position humiliating or degrading because of its perceived link to animal copulation.

LEAP FROG SEX POSITION is a sex position in which the receiving partner is on all fours with his/her head and torso lower than his/her hips. The penetrating partner penetrates his/her anus/vagina from behind in a kneeling position. This, as with most positions in which the penetrating partner enters the receiving partner from behind, allows the penetrating partner to ensure that the receiving one, often a woman, reaches a satisfactory orgasm by manually stimulating her clitoris. This position also allows the penetrating partner to control his/her thrust speed more easily, providing the desired speed and stimulation for the receiving partner. Penetration can be very deep.

When a woman is penetrated in this position, the penetrating partner may stimulate her clitoris. When a man is being penetrated, the penetrating partner can stimulate his penis or testicles from behind.

The receiving partner also has the option of rotating his/her hips against the penis / dildo as he/she is penetrated giving added sensation to both partners.

This position is also known as "face down ass up", & was the subject of a song of that title by the American rap group 2 Live Crew.

One disadvantage of this position is it can cause strain on the receiving partner's back.

THE SPOON SEX POSITION. In the sexual spoons position in a heterosexual relationship, the man lies on his side, with his knees bent while the woman lies on her side, with her back pressed against his front, her legs slightly parted, her hips tilted to one side, and her knees bent. They line up to align his penis with her vagina, and his penis is then guided into her vagina from the rear. It is also possible to use this position for anal sex rather than vaginal sex, making this a popular position in homosexual male relationships as well.

The person penetrating is often called the big spoon, and the person receiving the little spoon, especially in homosexual relationships.

This position allows for a great deal of physical intimacy, as the full-body contact allows both partners to cuddle and caress one another. Low-intensity sex can go on for a long time in this position. However, the lower intensity from this position may not be desired by both parties; furthermore, penetration is quite shallow, and clitoral or anal pressure is not very intense without manual stimulation. In addition, there is little visual stimulation for either party, as they are not facing one another and cannot see each other's bodies clearly.

A modification of this is for the big spoon to place the uppermost leg over the belly of the little spoon, who may then lie somewhat more on his or her back, with the knees of both legs drawn up. The big spoon's lower leg is extended under the inverted "V" of those legs, with penetration from beneath those legs. This can be a very comfortable position for both partners and is useful as a resting position between more energetic episodes.

COWGIRL SEX POSITION. The woman on top position, also called the reverse missionary, jackhammer, or cowgirl, is a type of sex position. In this position,

• · the man lies on his back or sits down in a chair of some kind
• · the woman sits on top of him facing him, with his body between her legs, and with her groin aligned over his to facilitate penetration.

Penetration is quite deep, and the woman can control the depth and intensity of penetration. Clitoral pressure may not be very intense for some women, but can be provided by hand, or by the man periodically semi-withdrawing and manipulating his penis against the woman's clitoris, or by other means.

Proponents of the cowgirl position say these are the advantages:

• · Very deep penetration.
• · Both partners can see one another, and in particular the man can view and caress the woman's breasts while they are in a more natural position.
• · Often the man can delay his orgasm longer in this position.
• · The position is far less tiring for the man as he does not have to support his weight while also being physically active.
• · The woman may take a relatively static position, so that she does not tire (by supporting her upper body with her extended arms with her torso almost horizontal), while the man, not having to support his weight can be quite active without fatigue. This variation eases the strain of motion upon the woman's knees, which may be an advantage for some women.
• · The woman can control the depth, intensity and angle of penetration, and enjoy the dominant feeling of being in control.
• · The man can enjoy the relaxing and otherwise rare opportunity of reclining and receiving pleasure without physical strain.
• · The woman can easily stimulate her clitoris with her hand (if in the upright version).

The REVERSE COWGIRL SEX POSITION (or, rarely, reverse Amazon) is a human sex position in which:

• · the woman sits on top of him facing away from him, with his legs between her legs, and with her groin aligned over his to facilitate penetration.

Penetration is quite deep. The woman can control the depth, intensity and angle of penetration. The woman can enjoy the dominant feeling of being in control. The man can enjoy the relaxing and otherwise rare opportunity of reclining and receiving pleasure without physical strain. Allows the woman to easily stimulate her clitoris on the base of the man's penis and testicles. Allows the man to more easily stimulate the woman's clitoris with his fingers. Allows the man to stimulate the woman's buttocks or anus. Allows the man to caress the woman's breasts from a different angle compared to other positions. Provides rear-entry possibility for very obese men if the man lies completely on his back. The man may be able to get a better view of his penis entering the woman's vagina than in other positions

The STAND AND CARRY SEX POSITION is also called the "reverse piggy back" or "tree" position.

In this position, the man remains standing. The woman wraps her arms around the man's neck, and (with a little help) her legs around his waist, thereby exposing her vaginal entrance to the male's penis.

This position is made easier with the use of a solid object behind the female, as in the Standing sex position. Use of a solid object gives the male a more solid target to thrust against, as well as to help hold her up.

Couples who like this position cite these as reasons:

• · The lack of contact with the ground can allow both partners the advantages of free movement that come with regular standing sex, even if a difference in height would make that position difficult.
• · Some women are turned on by a man's strength in this position.

• · Spontaneous sex, even if there's no place to lie or sit.

• · Many find this position, with the woman clinging to the man, to be very intimate.

FURNITURE SEX POSITION – receiving partner on the edge of furniture, legs spread; penetrating partner stands. The receiving partner reclines or sits on the edge of the furniture - sofa, counter, bed, etc. and spreads their legs. The penetrating partner stands or kneels, depending on the height of the furniture, supports the receiving partner's legs with their arms, and penetrates them. In this position, the penetrating partner can adjust the angle of penetration to enter from above or below to effect more stimulation. This position provides a good view for the penetrating partner of the penetration occurring.

The 69 SEX POSITION, also known by its French name soixante-neuf, is one of the most commonly known sexual positions. It allows simultaneous mutual oral sex.

In this position, the two individuals generally lie down, one on top of the other or side to side. However, instead of lying face to face, each places their head next to the other's genitalia, enabling the genitalia of both partners to be orally stimulated at the same time. It is common for one or both members to insert a finger into the vagina or anus of the other to add additional stimulation and pleasure. Alternatively, a similar position can be taken by one upright and one inverted individual. However, some individuals find it difficult in this position to concentrate on giving while receiving. Also the position places the more sensitive underside of the penis against the top of the mouth rather than against the tongue, thus creating a variation in stimulation. The clitoris is not disadvantaged by the position.

It is known as 'Congress of the Crow' in the Kama Sutra, "because each partner takes something unclean into the mouth." People who are affiliated with the sex position are called "69ers".

The SCISSORS SEX POSITION or Tribadism is female-female genital sex; also called tribbing, scissoring, donut bumping, bumping squids, etc. Two female partners rub their vulvas together until orgasm. Tribadism done with both partners lying on their backs, genitals facing each other, is known as scissors, clam bumping, taco bumping or double Y. It can also be done with one partner on her back and the other in a kneeling position with one leg between the other's legs and the other outside; this usually requires one of the legs of the lying-down partner to be held up - preferably on the shoulder of the kneeling partner.
